This morning on our Christian radio station, KBIQ 102.7FM, we heard them say, "Happy Birthday to Sandi McDill. We have a message for you. Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Bride and best friend! You are the best wife and Mommy anyone could ever have! With all our love, David, Hannah, Colin and (new baby coming soon)!!!!!!!!!"

I can't believe he's already in Cub Scouts!!

First Den Meeting

A proud Dad pinning on Colin's Bobcat Badge

Lunch at Applebee's to celebrate Colin earning his Bobcat badge

I remember my years in scouting. Scouting taught me character, provided male role models when I really needed them, and the leadership skills to make me the person I am today. That's why after making Eagle Scout at 18, I gave back another 10 years as an adult leader. Then we had our sweet Princess Hannah. I said, "See ya guys, I'll be back when we have a boy." Well, we had a boy. An awesome boy, Colin. At the last Pack meeting on Monday night, Colin (a Tiger Cub) earned his Bobcat badge and I had the honor of pinning it on him and his proud mother got her mother's bobcat pin. I always wanted a boy and the Lord blessed me with the best one. I am so proud of him! I am so proud to be his Dad! I love you, Colin!

Happy Birthday to Our Princess!!!

Wow! Where do I start? That gorgeous little Princess has been a huge part of our lives for 10 years today! We are so blessed to have been chosen by God to be the parents of such an amazing, beautiful, funny, smart, sassy, cuddly, lovable, miracle! Doctors' prognosis years ago was not the best but God had other plans for Hannah Mae. Hannah has shocked and amazed those that know her well; family, school teachers, Sunday School leaders, therapists, hospital and school nurses, pastors and other parents of special kids.

I remember holding Hannah Mae when she was first born. Something inside me told me 10 years ago today that she was very special. It was God letting me know that He was entrusting us with His special little girl, and I am eternally grateful to be her Daddy. I am a better person, we are all better people for having Hannah in our lives! Happy Birthday my sweet little girl and I wish you many more!!

To My Love, Happy Anniversary!

Fourteen years ago today, I watched the most beautiful woman walking down the aisle toward me. I didn't realize it then, but I do now, that God chose this wonderful woman just for me! We have grown into parents with the best kids in the world. She is a natural Mother. I remember watching her take care of both our babies. It was like she was born to be a mother, because she was. God has really blessed our lives. He has also blessed our marriage. We've been through many great times and many tough times, and my Gorgeous Bride is still by my side. I love you so much, Sweetheart! I love our family more than words can say and I look forward to growing old with you. We'll be fun Grandparents, it will be a blast. We'll be holding hands and going for walks, you with your blue hair and me with none. :) I know as long as you're with me, we can conquer anything that we might face, together. I'm the luckiest man in the world!

I love you with all my heart, Sandi! Happy Anniversary!!

A Daughter's Heart 2010

My beautiful Princess let me accompany her again to the Daddy Daughter formal dinner, dance and pictures. She was gorgeous in her pink dress! Once again I was the proudest Daddy there! We had so much fun at dinner and getting our picture taken. After dinner a woman spoke about what girls need to hear from their Daddy's and how girls tick. Then it was time for dancing. Hannah loves to dance. We were spinning around and jammin to all the songs. When we were finally worn out, we headed for home before the minivan turned back into a pumpkin. What another awesome night! Thank you so much, my precious angel for letting me accompany the most beautiful girl to the ball!! Love, Daddy

"The Providence of God" By Jimmy Dodd

The service this morning was awesome to say the least! The Holy Spirit I think spoke to every heart this morning through Jimmy Dodd. The CD's of the service were sold out before the last service and they took back orders at the end.

Text: Romans 8:28

#1. GOD IS IN CONTROL

For those who follow Jesus, either this verse is true and every tragedy is ultimately a blessing or God is a liar and the word of God is not true.

**The Promise: God is in control!!

#2. AN ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE

The bad things that happen in this life are short term. God did not promise this life would be easy. In fact, He said just the opposite.

**The Perspective: Every single thing that happens, God is working into a plan for our good and for his glory!

#3. A LOVING GOD - THE HOPE OF THE GOSPEL

The calling is the effectual calling of the Holy Spirit by which He convicts us of our sin and shows us the need we have for Jesus.

**The Plan: God is totally helpful. We are totally helpless.

Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Key Words - WE KNOW that in ALL THINGS....ALL!

FED EX Orange Bowl 2010

Believe it or not, it was the coldest Orange Bowl in history! 50 degrees at kickoff and 50 degrees at our house. Who would have thought in January that Colorado Springs could have the same weather as Southern Florida?!?!?!

Anyway, we were ready!! Dressed in Hawkeye apparel all day, people commenting at the stores and we walked around with an attitude that said, "Don't mess with the Hawks, we're gonna win!"

Well, if you missed the game, you missed a lot! "Stanzi the manzi" unbeaten all year (when he played) was on his game, looking like Chuck Long. These looked like the Hawks from years ago!

Bottom line, the Iowa Hawkeyes won their first Bowl game in 19 years. It's a sign of things to come! GO HAWKS!!
